Hi Greg. I have only just read your comment and wanted to say thank you for supporting women to be all that God created them to be. May you be blessed and encouraged in your stand for equality

Mary Ann,

You should read what those same sorts did to Hypatia of Alexandria in the 5th century. Many men feel doubly threatened, especially by brainy women in professions which are traditionally considered to be male dominated.

I have been an egalitarian for some time now, and I applaud those women who are beholden to nobody, to no ideology, and to no Biblical interpretation which says what they can and cannot do with what they've been endowed with by their creator.

Yes, Yes, Yes!

In the last year, I have become an egalitarian, but I am still attending a moderately complementarian church. For the month of march, I started a series over at my blog on biblical equality. While some rigid complementarians come on to fervently denounce such a notion, there are other complementarians coming on to sincerely learn about egalitarianism, because they have never been presented with their case. So, if any of you would like to migrate over to my blog and help represent the egalitarian worldview, I would greatly appreciate it!

Amen to that! Thanks for posting that, Liz.

Yesterday my sister came home in tears because one of her clients made inappropriate overtures to her ("if you want me to be your client, then you will..."). She was rightly ruffled by it. We always hear about it or see it on TV but never think things like that really happen, but it really happened to her, and it makes me so angry. My sister is an engineer, a field that is still predominantly male-dominated. As I talked to her, she shared with me that she faces sexism all the time. Because she is a woman, the men are either overly nice to her or overly mean. Certain of these men especially can't stand it when they find out that she is finishing her masters and will have a degree higher than theirs -- or makes more money, or is smarter and better at being an engineer...

Anyway, I can't wait til the day when this kind of inequality will be stomped out.
