Everything is deserted

The display tables are sitting there bare and lonely, only a few of us are left in the hotel and a wonderful weekend of information and fellowship is all but finished. So many friendships made – so much new information to process – such a sense of it all being so worthwhile. “See you in Melbourne” was an oft-repeated phrase as folks talked of Australia, weather, food and accents. It would be an absolute blessing to have a bunch of CBE people in Australia next year. This time we had people from four continents attending; people ranging in age from babies to 80+ yr olds and all enjoying each other’s company immensely.

Many books were sold (and not a few given away) and items sold at the Silent Auction. The evaluation forms will tell stories of ‘one of the best conferences ever’. I’m sure many of us will go back to our homes and churches with a new vigour and excitement about sharing the good news about God’s plan for equality in all areas of our lives. Lots of questions were raised, thought about, discussed and answered in an atmosphere of open-ness and safety to express opinions and ideas.

Yes….’echoes of Eden’ over and over again.
